2026 BYD Shark
Stage One Preservation Before Paint Protection Film
Prepare the vehicle for long-term preservation before PPF installation.

This BYD Shark arrived at the studio straight from dealership delivery.
Brand new. Untouched. Ready to begin its preservation journey.
The owner's intention was clear from the first conversation — this vehicle would be preserved properly, from day one.
Brand New Vehicle
The objective of this visit was to complete every preservation step that could be performed before Paint Protection Film installation.
Paint preparation, interior protection, wheel-off coating, suspension protection, and glass coating — all completed during Stage One.
The final exterior ceramic coating is intentionally delayed until after PPF installation. This sequencing ensures each layer bonds under optimal conditions.

Preservation Detail
Stage One focused on protecting every surface that won't be touched by Paint Protection Film.
The paint was lightly refined to remove dealership handling marks while preserving maximum clear coat thickness. Wheels were removed to coat barrels, faces, and callipers — areas never seen but critical for long-term preservation.
Suspension components were protected against corrosion. Glass was treated for hydrophobic performance. The interior — alcantara, leather, and fabric — was fully protected against wear, staining, and UV damage.
Every surface that could be preserved before PPF installation, was.
The Reasoning
The decision to delay the final ceramic coating until after PPF installation is deliberate.
Applying ceramic coating now would mean polishing it off when the vehicle returns for PPF — wasting product, time, and money.
Instead, Stage One protects every surface that won't be touched by PPF. When the vehicle returns, the film is applied to high-impact zones, and the final ceramic coating locks in the entire exterior.
This phased approach creates the strongest possible foundation for long-term preservation.

The Result
Paint Preparation — Light gloss enhancement to remove dealership handling marks while preserving maximum clear coat thickness. No heavy correction was needed — the paint was in excellent factory condition.
Wheel-Off Protection — Wheels removed to coat barrels, faces, and brake callipers. These areas are never seen but are the most exposed to brake dust and road contamination.
Suspension Protection — Suspension components coated to prevent corrosion and contamination buildup over time.
Glass Coating — All glass treated for hydrophobic performance, clarity in all conditions, and easier maintenance.
Interior Protection — Alcantara, leather, and fabric surfaces treated to resist wear, staining, and UV damage.
With Stage One complete and the PPF installed, the final protection stage is documented in Part Two of this project.
What It Taught Us
This is the third vehicle the owner has entrusted to Forza Auto Studio.
Each vehicle has been preserved with a different strategy — because every vehicle has different needs, different paint, and a different story.
The trust built across those projects is why this BYD Shark arrived before any damage could occur. The owner knew that preservation starts from day one, not after the first wash swirl appears.
That's the relationship this studio is built on — not single transactions, but long-term stewardship.
Stage One Preservation has now been completed.
The vehicle returned following Paint Protection Film installation for its final exterior ceramic coating — the finished preservation process is documented in Part Two of this project.
